English Lacrosse will be hosting the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford July 13th – 22nd 2017. The event will be the largest female sporting competition in the UK and will feature 30 nations and over 1000 athletes from all over the world. English Lacrosse has seen the game become one of the UK’s fastest growing sports with over 110% growth over the last 10 years and enjoys a loyal and enthusiastic fan base aged 16-25.
We have a number of exciting internship and volunteering opportunities available for marketing, media, journalism and film students. This is a great opportunity to get experience in media, aligning yourself with a world event and a rapidly growing sport.
English Lacrosse operates a team of full-time and voluntary professionals that are working closely together to promote the event. The candidate should be a team player, organised, enthusiastic and ideally have a keen interest in sports, marketing, media and journalism.
You will be taught a range of skills and marketing techniques, but ideally you should already have excellent writing skills and be experienced using various social media platforms. Roles include running our social media channels, writing new material for our website, interviewing athletes and coaches, producing and editing videos and more.
Candidates will be able to commit 2-3 hours a week in the build-up to the event, however opportunities to cover the event will be available. Candidates should be able to travel if required to. English Lacrosse will reimburse reasonable travel expenses.
