English Lacrosse is seeking to recruit two Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) board positions for appointment in early 2018.

English Lacrosse (EL) is the National Governing Body for Lacrosse and the board is tasked with setting our strategy, managing performance and governing the sport.

Over the last decade, Lacrosse has experienced an unprecedented period of growth which is presenting exciting challenges and opportunities for the sport and its strategic decision makers. In addition to the recent increases in participation, England has successfully hosted the 2017 Women’s World Cup which has provided an added impetus for the sport.

EL is seeking to recruit passionate and innovative individuals to the INED board roles who can actively contribute to our business strategy, our desire to be less reliant on public resources and to raise the profile of the sport.

The INED role requires individuals with strategic, leadership and management skills. Your motivations might be many and varied – from wanting to make a difference in the 3rd sector, having a passion for sport, to enhancing your CV through voluntary work. Whatever your motivations we want to hear about them and will support you to achieve them.

The INED role requires a commitment to 5 board meetings per year and is an unremunerated position but reasonable expenses are paid. EL is particularly interested in individuals with either a Legal, Human Resource or Marketing background.

EL is committed to ensuring diversity in our sport, through the EL Diversity Policy, and EL welcomes applications for all its activities from individuals regardless of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, social background, age or disability.
