The inaugural All Star Regional Championship will be enter its first stage this weekend, the best players in England will compete for the honour of becoming the first region to take the All Star Championships. A replacement for the Territorial competition, five territories have now been consolidated into three regions, with the objective of increasing the intensity of elite play. This competition is being viewed with anticipation and excitement as the very highest level of lacrosse will be on display. North, South West and South East will each enter a 1st and 2nd team into the two weekend Championships.
Team England U19 are also competing in the Championships as they get ready for the Junior Home Internationals, hosted by Surrey Sports Park on March 17th. Alex Carnegie Brown, a representative from the U19 coaching team said, “We are excited to be able to play against the top seniors in the country, a great learning experience for our young players to play against teams with so much lacrosse knowledge. A crucial step in our World Cup 2015 preparations.”
Team England senior players will also be hoping to use the match play to prepare for the FIL World Cup this summer.
