England Academy produce two dominant performances against Wales U19’s

The England Academy Under 17’s played Wales Under 19’s on Saturday and Sunday at St Pauls School Wythenshaw. Although these were scrimmage games and no official score was kept, the U17’s ran out winners with two dominant performances over the 2 days.

Elite Performance Director Dave Elwood was very please with both displays “We played some outstanding lacrosse over both days. We were dominant on defence and moved the ball very well offensively and scored lots of team goals. Winning is not our primary focus at this level, what we are looking for players who give 100% and show a great attitude. and a willingness to learn from each situation, and we saw lots of this over the weekend, so a big congratulations must go to every player.”

Dave would also like to extend his thoughts to Darren Howard who suffered a knee injury during one of the games  “Darren Howard suffered a knee injury on Saturday, and we wish Darren a speedy recovery and look forwards to seeing him next year“.

The Under 17’s academy have one more game in their summer programme against the touring Maryland Express team on July 27th at Brooklands.
