English Lacrosse have demonstrated the organisation’s commitment to promoting diversity within the sport by introducing its first English Lacrosse Board Diversity Policy.
The Board approved the policy at a recent board meeting and Chair, John Neal, announced the Policy at the AGM in October with the Board Diversity statement.
The statement iterated that the English Lacrosse Board has adopted a target of, and will demonstrably take all appropriate actions to achieve and maintain, a minimum of 30% of each gender on its board.
The Policy demonstrates a strong and public commitment to progressing towards achieving gender parity and greater diversity in general on the Board, including, but not limited to, Black, Asian, minority ethnic (BAME) diversity and disability, reflecting the sport and society.
“We have already made a concerted effort over the last 18 months to address and improve the representation on the English Lacrosse Board within the current group, progressing towards gender parity and appointing a number of skilled INEDs”, said Neal.
“The creation of this Policy now allows us to effectively monitor and review our future appointments to foster all aspects of diversity in the board’s leadership and decision-making processes.”
