After the success of 2016’s inaugural summer Surrey Lacrosse League, the event is back again for 2017 in the build-up to the 2017 Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup.
Players aged 11 to 16-years-old will be able to join a mixed team for three weeks of training and competition at different venues around the county.
The Summer League will provide an outlet for players who are introduced to the sport during the Surrey Youth Games, which runs from April to June.
However, there is no need to have taken part, or even played lacrosse before, as all abilities are welcome.
The day will consist of 1 hour of training followed by 1 hour of matches where players will be placed in to one of four balanced teams that will play each other in a round-robin league at venues in Woking, Epsom and finally Guildford.
Lacrosse is booming in Surrey, which will host the 2017 Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup at Surrey Sports Park, and this event is designed to create a legacy for the tournament by encouraging more youngsters from around the area to pick up a stick and try it out.
