English Lacrosse is excited to announce that the third annual Manchester Challenge tournament will take place at Broughton Park Rugby Club, Manchester in two weeks time (May 14th-15th) and this year has expanded to include three girls age-groups for the first time.
The Manchester Challenge is a junior participation event, which has been created in partnership with the Manchester City Council. The aim of the event is to encourage and develop playing opportunities for juniors, whilst building toward a lasting legacy for the 2018 FIL Men’s World Lacrosse Championships.
The event will invite junior teams from all-over the country at the U11*, U12, U13*, U14, U15* and U16 age groups and will also include a junior mixed development tournament for beginners at the U8’s and U10’s age groups. The Manchester Challenge will also be run alongside the senior National Club Championships which will take place on Sunday 15th at the same venue. (*=Girls age-groups)
Age Limits (Boys):
U12 – Players must be aged over 9yrs under 12yrs as at 1st September 2015
U14 – Players must be aged over 12yrs under 14yrs as at 1st September 2015
U16 – Players must be aged over 14yrs under 16yrs as at 1st September 2015
Age Limits (Girls):
U11 – Under the age of 11 on the 1st September 2015
U13 – Under the age of 13 on the 1st September 2015
U15 – Under the age of 15 on the 1st September 2015
Junior Teams will be required to register between 9:00am and 9:30am with games commencing at 10:00am
Saturday 14th May:
U12 and U16 Boys Tournament
U13 Girls Tournament
Sunday 15th May:
U14 Boy’s Tournament
U8/U10 Mixed Development Tournament
U11 and U15 Girl’s Tournament
Women’s National Club Championship Game 1 (12:00pm Draw)
Women’s National Club Championship Game 2 (2:00pm Draw)
Men’s National Club Championship: Stockport v Spencer (2:00pm Face-off)
