U19 World Championships

England Defeat Wales in their Opening Game of the U19 FIL Rathbones World Lacrosse Championships

England put in a strong performance against a struggling Welsh team to win their 1st game of the Championships 2-19. A gentle introduction to the World event for the young team, expect the competition to increase at pace as we enter the latter part of the pool play in Edinburgh.

England’s attack were given the opportunity to get their names on the score sheet and did not disappoint.  Lucy Delaney showed her dominance with 4 goals and 1 assist. Alex Drew scored 3, Alice Cranwell, Liv Wimpenny, Tilly Shires all scored 2. Taya Jackson, Hannah Bray, Freya Savage and Hannah Thurston scoring 1 a piece.

England’s defence will be happy with their performance, limiting Wales to only 11 shots throughout the game.
