Scotland V Wales
The Scotland and Wales rivalry came to a head this afternoon as they met at Peffermill. Both teams had nothing to loose, it was Welsh player Thomas who scored the first goal however Scotland quickly answered with an impressive shot from Patterson. Wales continued with their high pressure play converting a further five goals prior to half time, Scotland were hot on their heels but only managed to convert two goals to make the half time score Wales 6 – Scotland 3.
As the second half began Scotland continued to attack the Welsh, but once again the Welsh defence proved too strong. Numerous turnovers saw Wales score four goals, which lead to Scotland calling two consecutive stick checks which were both correct and the Welsh sticks were deemed illegal. This re-energised the Scottish side providing Stott and Thomson with the opportunity to score two goals. In spite of this the Scottish team could not equal the power of the Welsh, further goals from Coombes- Roberts and Lloyd Rout gave them a convincing lead with the final score being Wales 13- Scotland 5.
