Jets Prove a Tough Test for Storm

The first quarter was cagey, with both teams cancelling each other out. Northern Storm had lots of the possession but could not break past the Jets defence. Storm broke the deadlock first on their power play with Jill Durgin finishing off a pass from Laura Warren. Jets also power played the second quarter but were unable to score, in the right goal. They conceded their 2nd power play goal through an own goal, giving the storm a 4-0 lead at the halftime break. The power play quarter proved decisive as the third quarter saw the Jets get back in the game, scoring 3 goals to the storms 1 goal (5-3 storm). A final ten minutes provided further chances for both teams to score, with Katherine Bailey having an outstanding game in midfield for the Jets, but the teams could only draw the last quarter leaving Storm to take the win.
