Rathbones National Schools Championship winner, Francesca Parshall, has recently secured a lacrosse scholarship to study in the USA.

The 18-year-old, who attended Rendcomb College in Cirencester, will attend Keiser University, Florida to study Political Science as well as taking part in the university’s lacrosse programme after being awarded the accolade.

Francesca captained Rendcomb College to victory in the D3 Rathbones National Schools Championship in February, with her talents being recognised by Keiser Women’s Head Coach, Lauren Bennett.

Bennett said: “Francesca has the ability to be a game changer, she is a true athlete and knows the game of lacrosse very well. Her speed, work ethic and game knowledge will be a huge asset to our team throughout the years.”

Headmaster of Rendcomb College, Rob Jones commented: “I am so pleased that Francesca’s talent has been recognised in such a prestigious award. She works incredibly hard at all she does and I have no doubt that she will make a big impact at Keiser on and off the pitch.”

The Rathbones National Schools Lacrosse Championship is the annual premier lacrosse event in the British Schools calendar, with over 3,500 players competing over four days to take the prestigious title of National School Champions.

The 2017 tournament will take place from Friday 3 March – Tuesday 7 March at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford.
