2013 Home Internationals Preview

This weekend the 2013 Home International’s will take place at the University of Edinburgh’s Peffermill Playing Fields. With the World Cup only three months away, this years Home Internationals will be even more important as the home nations will be looking for a measure of how their teams have progressed from last years European Championships and how they are shaping up for this summer’s World Cup.

England enter this years tournament as defending champions, winning the 2012 tournament at Surrey Sports Park, after a convincing 18-5 victory over Wales, another against Scotland 13-3 and a close one against an England invitational team 8-6. Wales came through the tournament as runners up with a strong performance against Scotland wining 18-4 and England White 8-5.

This years A Tournament will feature host’s Scotland, England and Wales. The B Tournament will feature two England representative teams including the England U19’s and an England Invitational team as well as, Scotland B, Wales B and Ireland. The 2012 B team tournament saw the England team dominate to be crowned tournament champions with Wales finishing in second.
