England U19’s Prepared for Edinburgh

In less than two days the England U19’s will step on the field for their first game at the 2015 FIL Rathbones U19 Women’s Lacrosse World Championships. The team has been tirelessly preparing for the past two years, and are widely tipped to be in contention for a medal in Edinburgh.

In their opening game, Team England will go up against old rivals Wales. The game will mark the start of a gruelling schedule, with the girls playing up-to 8 games in 9 days. Team England will compete in the Worlds top division – the Blue Division where they will face USA, Canada, Australia, Wales and Japan.

The 2015 FIL Rathbones U19 Women’s World Championship will feature 14 nations a growth of two nations from the last championships which took place in Hannover, Germany four years ago.

David Abini recently interviewed team captains Liv Wimpenny and Emma Adams, to give us an insight on how Team England have been preparing for the tournament and what are the teams hopes and expectations are for the championships.
