U19 Women

Alexandra Drewe

Alex Drewe, is another young member of our squad. Alex currently goes to school at Walthamstow Hall, Sevenoaks and was a member of the winning U15 National Schools team in 2013. Since then, Alex has captained the U15 Kent team and played for the U19 Kent team, as well as the South East U19 A team in 2014. When Alex first trialled for the South East team she was selected into the B team. Greatly disappointed, Alex was determined to prove to the coaches at the following training weekend that she was better than that, and through this, the day before the tournament was moved up to the A team. This fighting spirit that Alex possesses has been such an asset to her through the England process as it has allowed her to gain her spot in the World Cup Squad. Alex is our lefty attack – although basically ambidextrous – making her dangerous from all angles. A powerful accurate shot means she will always feature on the score sheet, with the left post drive her favourite scoring play. Still growing as a player there is much still to come from Alex – certainly one to watch in Edinburgh.
