U19 Women

Feenie Ruiz

Feenie Ruiz, went to The Lady Eleanor Holles School and had played lacrosse there for seven years. She started playing for the first team in 2012 and since then has been in three U18 national school finals, captaining her team throughout the 2014/2015 season. As a result of not winning one of her national finals Feenie felt extremely disappointed but after overcoming this, she was more determined than ever to fight for her spot on the England World Cup Squad. Feenie has represented both greater London and south of England at U18 level, seeing her progress through the England programme into the World Cup Squad. During Feenie’s progression into the World Cup Squad she represented England twice at the Home Internationals and participated in three England tours. Feenie is one of the squad’s most versatile players, comfortable playing both attack and defence – not surprising given she started life in defence for England and has since developed a great left hand shot and become a regular feature starting in attack. She always has her eyes up, will look to find her team mates with a feed, or cover their backs on a slide.
