George Ievers

The 2016 European Championships were Ievers’ first taste representing his country, helping England to retain the gold medal the side won 4 years ago.

George is a product of the Sheffield Steelers’ junior program and started playing lacrosse at the age of 12. At the age of 15, George trailed out for the England u19 squad to play at the World Championships and made it to the final 43 man training squad. George also led a junior team on an exchange visit to Rhode Island, USA in 2008 where Sheffield won the Ocean State Lacrosse Tournament. George has represented Sheffield at every level and currently plays for the Men’s 1st team in the North Premiership. George has represented the Yorkshire several times and for the last 2 years co-captained the team. In 2014, Yorkshire won its first ever British National Championship, with George scoring the winning goal over Scotland. In 2015, Yorkshire was again pitted against Scotland in the Plate final and once more, George scored in overtime to clinch the title.
