The Jan Kiddle Cup is a development tournament for players just starting out in the game. The majority of players on a squad must have been playing less than a year. As this is an adult beginners cup, we allow teams to mix up so if a club only has a few newbies they can still come along and be put into a team. You don’t have to be a particular club or uni so if you want to get a group of friends together who are learning then come along.
Umpires will be centrally provided. Matches will be umpired to a safe level eg full league rules will not be upheld but umpires should ensure all matches are safe and fun!
The ethos of this tournament is training/introduction for new players. Rules are;
- Squads up to 14 players
- For each game both teams should agree before the game starts how many a-side the match will be, so can be minimum 6 a-side up to 10 a-side
- Players should have been playing up to 1 year
- Teams can include some experienced players but these players should assist/feed only and not dominate. They are there to guide and inspire!
- If entering more than 1 team please balance their skills across teams rather than loading 1 team
