In Memory of Paul Fildes
28 Mar 2008 11:06

The English Lacrosse Association would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the relatives and friends of long time Stockport LC member Paul Fildes who died after a short stay in hospital on Tuesday. He was 69.

Paul was the Cheshire Lacrosse Association Treasurer at the time of his death, the latest in a long line of volunteer roles that he had worked within since his son introduced him into the sport. He had at various times served as Vice Chair of Stockport LC, Vice President and President of Cheshire, sat as the Cheshire representative to the Mens Playing Committee, as well as managing U16 teams for both Stockport and Cheshire.

His son Neil played for England in the 2002 World Championships in Australia, and now resides in the USA.

Paul is also survived by his wife Carol and son Graham.

The funeral will be on Thursday, April 2nd, at Stockport Crematorium at 10.45am. There will be a wake at Stockport LC shortly afterwards.
