Job Title: Senior Women's Head Coach
Location: Based in England with international travel as and when required.
Reporting to: The Elite Sub-committee of WPC
Number of Direct and Indirect Reports: England Support Staff, including Assistant Coach(es), Team Manager, Physiotherapist, Fitness Coach
Purpose of Role: Training, selection, coaching and leadership of the Senior England Women's Team(s)
Responsibilities:
· Plan and lead progressive training practices in all areas of the women’s game including skill technique, tactical play and fitness
· Coach all squad players* to a high standard and equip them to develop and compete to the best of their ability as individuals
· Coach all squads to a high standard in order to enable each team to develop and to compete successfully in competition
· Actively keep up to date with, and deliver, the most recent and innovative coaching methods, including skill, technique and tactical knowledge
· Work with the Elite Performance Committee/England Selection Committee in relation to the setting of the selection criteria and the selection process
· Maintain and improve England’s rankings at all levels, particularly the World Cup
· Maintain regular national squad training programme each season (for national elite and development players)
· Coach or oversee coaching for evening training once a week (for 9 months of the year)
· Monitor all squad players’ progress and development, providing help and guidance as appropriate or suggest the best professional person to do so. Provide feedback on a regular basis for all squad players. This can include verbal, written and video to both individuals and team
Establish and manage an appropriate support team
· Attend Performance Elite Committee meetings and give relevant reports and feedback.
