Three team managers from Cheadle LC are celebrating having been awarded the new and prestigious ‘first-ever’ English Lacrosse Volunteer Awards.

The accolades are rewards being offered as part of English Lacrosse’s Volunteer Programme ‘Check it Out’, and are designed to reward the efforts of volunteers over the course of the season.

Jayne Bartram, Findlay Murray and Kevin Goddard were all nominated by Club Development Officer Brian Costello for their long-standing efforts at the club.

Jayne has been a volunteer at the club, performing a wide range of activities, for the last eight years, but mainly serving as a well-respected junior team manager. She also represents Cheadle on the North of England Junior & Schools Committee and is the club’s Welfare Officer.

Findlay has been a team manager for five years and will take over the U16 manager’s role later this season. He also holds a basic Referee’s Award and regularly helps officiate junior league matches.

Kevin has been volunteering at the club for four years and has taken over Findlay’s role as U14 manager this season. Kevin also holds a Basic Referees Award and is commonly seen running the club tuck shop on match days.

English Lacrosse would like to congratulate all three award winners for their service to the game and their club, and commend Cheadle LC on the support they give their volunteers. Jayne, Findlay, and Kevin were all presented with commemorative T-shirts to mark their achievements.

Anyone who would like to recognize any volunteers at their club, please contact Dave Coldwell at <d.coldwell@englishlacrosse.co.uk>, or call the English Lacrosse head office on 0161 834 4582.
