England U19s Finish Preparations with Good Team Performance

Wenham Pleased With Team Performance

The England U19 Team continued their final preparations with a warm up game aginst a Haverford School Alumni side made up of college players.

On a hot and humid Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia the team lost a close game 13-11. Coach Wenham was pleased with the performance, with all players making contributions in different areas of the field. The goals came from all over the park with 10 players on the score sheet. Goalie Ant Hayes lead the way with a full field run to put it stick side in the top corner! Not to be out done long stick Rob Grubisic cleared the ball and continued to goal burying it past the Haverford goalie. Overall, a good team performance with encouraging returns from injuries by Mike Armstrong and Pete Hayes.

The have now moved onto Vancover where they are staying at the Simon Fraser University. Final preparations will continue for the teams first game of the World Championships, which takes place aginst Japan on Thursday.
