Todd is reaching out to players and parents to see if they may know any young boys who would enjoy getting educated in a small boarding school environment and better their chances of playing lacrosse collegiately in the United States.

The Phelps School
“Serving the needs of the individual boy since 1946”
The Phelps School offers a traditional college preparatory program in an academically supportive, residentially nurturing environment. At the Phelps School, we enroll over 140 students from around the world. In fact, in 2009 we have taught boys from over 14 different countries and 13 different states in the US. It is wonderful to have such diversity in such a small school setting. In addition to our exceptional assortment of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds here, our population covers a wide range of the academic spectrum too. It is our success in working with this blend of varying intelligences that makes the Phelps school so unique.
Our mission is to create a nurturing and responsive climate which will bring out the best in each student, help him gain self-confidence and acquire respect for those around him. This effort is strengthened by the "family" atmosphere, small classes, and a strong tutorial component. We also work to achieve a proper balance between every boy's academic performance and his physical, social, and moral development.
The Phelps School is dedicated to a personalized education for the boy who seeks success academically, personally, and socially. Our first obligation is to create a caring, sensitive climate which emphasizes the positive in every situation. The student's educational program is planned in terms of his individual capacity, ability, needs and interests. This philosophy of dedication to the total development of each boy is accentuated by the disciplined atmosphere, small classes, and daily tutorial support. The environment is consistent, supportive, structured and combined with challenge, care and honesty. The Phelps School is concerned with emphasizing the articulation and inculcation of personal moral values as an important part of our mission; educating the heart as well as the mind and body.
The Phelps School's boarding and day programs offer a well-rounded curriculum designed to prepare boys for the next step in life. We place strong emphasis on the fundamentals of reading, English, mathematics and science, as well as study skills.
Personal attention is a paramount concern, and an average class size of eight encourages every boy to participate freely and without pressure in classroom discussions. All teachers are assigned advisees whose progress they follow closely throughout the year. Furthermore, teachers are in their classrooms every afternoon from 2:45 - 3:30 for tutorials. Some boys may be required to attend these sessions, but all students are encouraged to take advantage of the assistance available. In addition, resident faculty members monitor formal study periods in the dorms from Sunday through Thursday evenings.
