Winter Blues International Club Tournament  Kissimmee, Florida December 30, 2005 - January 1, 2006 World Class Lacrosse cordially invites you and your club team to participate in a great club tournament that will take place at our spring training facility in Kissimmee, Florida from December 30 - January 1, 2006. This information has been sent to lacrosse clubs throughout the US as well as clubs/teams in Europe, Canada, Australia and the Far East.  We would like to attract as many teams as possible to compete in this unique Winter Blues International Club International Club Tournament over the New Years Holiday. Depending on the response that is received, we are planning to have several ten-team divisions. Planned Men’s Divisions 1. Men's Open Platinum Division (best of the best) 2. Men's Open Gold Division (very good players) 3. Men's Open Grey Division (over 35) Planned Women’s Divisions 1. Women's Open Platinum Division Format: Each team will play a guaranteed five (5) games. Games will be two 25 minute halves with a 3 minute half time. Three games will be played on Friday, December 30th and two (2) games will be played on Saturday, December 31st. The four (4) teams with the best records in each division (goal differential is tiebreaker) will play in the 'Final Four' on New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1st. The semi-final games will be played at 10 AM and the championship games will be played at 2 PM. The tournament entry fee per team will be $999. There is a roster minimum size of 18 players. Rosters must be submitted prior to the event and must verified upon arrival to the tournament site. Rules: Rules will be published and forwarded to all team organizers Location: World Class Lacrosse Florida @ Austin Tindall Park (ATP), Kissimmee, Florida Facility is just 6 miles from Orlando International Airport Accommodations: We have negotiated rates with a collection of area hotels within 20-30 minutes of the tournament grounds. Host hotel room blocks are almost complete. The rates would be in effect for several days before and after the planned tournament. The host hotel choices range from the high-end Radisson Parkway Resort to more moderately priced Best Western, Travelodge, Howard Johnson properities. Once final team details are set, all hotel links and PROMO codes will be listed on our tournament web site www.winterblueslax.com We would likely to strongly suggest that you attend to your accomodations and flight reservations ASAP as the holidays are quickly approaching. If you hesitate you may miss the opportunity of our room blocks and flight availability may be limited. Please act now! Area Attractions: We are literally minutes from all central Florida attractions. You can plan to visit Disney World, Universal Studios, City Walk, Sea World, or dozens of other fantastic central Florida family attractions. Car Rentals: Dollar Rent-A-Car will be the official car rental agency of the tournament. They are located in the terminal at Orlando International Airport. We will also have a link to Dollar Rent-A-Car on our web site as well as a PROMO code for discounts. Tournament Facility: The location of the tournament is ATP, the facility that WCL has utilized for its pre-season lacrosse team training for the past nine years.  It consists of 8 Bermuda grass fields, 5 of which are full size fields and are illuminated with Musco lighting.  All fields have electronic scoreboards and stands for visitors to watch the event. Additionally, there are men's and women's locker rooms, showers, rest rooms, and an area for the athletic trainers. Team or Personal Equipment Storage: There will be availability for you or your team to securely store your lacrosse equipment during the tournament. Your team can rent a private secure storage building on site, or any individual can elect to store their personal gear while in attendance. It's a very cool service, plus it's great to not have to lug your gear back and forth each day. Please contact us for details. Food, Music and Beer: We plan to have a 'German Style Beer Garden' operating on site as well as a caterer offering Bar-B-Q ribs, chicken and more. Also, there will on-going music working hard to keep the place rocking, making this the place to 'Crank the Rock for the Holiday's '. Divisions will be set up depending on the interest that is generated.  All details, team applications, accommodations, car rentals, attraction opportunities, and more information will be listed on our web site. We are imposing a final deadline of November 1st for entries unless divisions are filled sooner. Give Kids The World Village: A portion of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the 'Give Kids the World Village'. Their 70 acre village is located in Kissimmee, Florida and their mission is to create magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world.
