ELA MEN'S NATIONAL SQUADS JUNIOR ACADEMY.
National Squads is pleased to announce that the 4th Regional Academy sessions of the season will run on Sundays in February and March 2010.
The Under 15 session will run from 1pm – 5pm on Sunday 14th February 2010 (with registration at 12.30pm) @ Wilmslow Lacrosse Club.
The Under 17 will run from 1pm-5pm on Sunday 15th March 2010 (with registration at 12:30pm) @ Wilmslow Lacrosse Club.
All players are welcome to the Regional Academy sessions provided they meet the age criteria which is:-
Under 15 and over 13 on Sept 1st 2009
(School Years 9 & 10)
Under 17 and over 15 on Sept 1st 2009
(School Years 11 & 12)
The Under 17 session will be a dual session for both the current established Academy players and the new potential squad player’s.
The Cost of the session is £30. For which each player will receive 4 hours Elite Level Coaching and an Academy T shirt.
The Academy system has been put in place to create an Elite pathway that ultimately leads to the U19 Centre of Excellence and on through to the England Men’s Senior Team. There are currently two Regional Centres based in the North and South.
The sessions are lead by England Head Coach Dave Elwood and the England Team’s Coaching staff along with Senior Men’s Players. The England Men’s Team are presently ranked No.1 in Europe and 5th in the World.
As with all National Squad sessions the Academy days will be based very heavily around the Fundamental aspects of the game, keying on individual development and understanding Team concepts through progressive drill work. The sessions are designed to help prepare players for future International Competition.
The Academy squads will represent England in our respective age groups at the festival tournaments during the 2010 World games.
The most important thing we ask players to bring with them on the day is a great attitude and the want to learn and develop our skill.
Coaches of all levels are encouraged to attend to observe the fundamental skill work and unity development drills.
On line registration will be available through the ELA website. For those unable to pay on line a form can be downloaded to complete and post with a cheque. Registration and payment before the event is vital to its smooth running and efficient use of time.
