English Lacrosse are proud and excited about the speakers an guests who will be appearing at the Convention, with members of National Squad Coaching teams, School Heads of Lacrosse, International Officials and many more.

Jane Powell – From School & Club to England, the role we all have in the Talent Pathway
English Lacrosse National Talent Development Manager – Jane has 22 years experience of talent development and talent coaching, and has held numerous international coaching positions.

Alex Carnegie-Brown – Developing Draw Control (Women’s Coaching)
England Lacrosse Womens Assistant Coach – After university Alex completed her level 3 coaching qualification and started to harbour ambitions to coach at international level. When Nicky Budd was appointed U19 Head Coach in early 2012  was appointed assistant coach in charge of defence, in 2012 she also travelled to Amsterdam with the Senior England squad as a GK coach for the European Championships.

Tom Wenham – Coaching. What & Why?
England Mens National Squad Head Coach – Tom was recruited to work as assistant coach to Dave Elwood for the 2006 World Championships, a role he continued in 2010. He was Head Coach of the England U19 team for the 2008 World Championships where the team secured a victory over fierce rivals Australia and a fourth placed finish. In between World Championships Tom has experience of a wide range of England tours covering Rome, Portugal and the East coast of America. The World Championships in 2014 was Toms eighth major Championships in a near-continuous England playing and coaching career which has now spanned over 18 years.

When not working with senior teams Tom enjoys coaching the U10s at Sheffield Steelers – a very different set of coaching challenges.

Joe Burnett – Club Management (Sports Administration)
English Lacrosse SE Regional Officer –  Joe role is Developing Lacrosse within the Higher Education sector in the South East region. Working with Clubs, Schools and Colleges to assist them in any way possible. The role is varied and can involve helping set up new clubs and teams from scratch or simply assist strengthening ones which already exist.

Martin Cragg – Creating attacking movement for beginners?
English Lacrosse Boys National Academy Co-Ordinator – Martin has nearly 10 years of experience working with community sport programmes, having started as a Community Football Coach whilst at University. Martin is also a Sports Development Officer at Timperley Sports Club where he co-ordinates and delivers coaching to local Schools.
