Day 3 of the All-Star Regional Tournament took place at St Swithun’s school in Winchester today (Saturday)
Semi-Final 1: England u19s 7 v 21 South East A
The South East were first to strike with a goal after three minutes but the game remained close (3-2) for fifteen minutes until the more experienced South East team started dominating possession and seeing in the half-time whistle with a score of 12-4. The second half continued with much of the same possession by the South East, while the u19 national team kept battling with some great team-play allowing them to get some points on the score-sheet. Emily Gray leading the way for the South East team with five goals while Harriet Kent registered four goals. R.Jordache and Z.King both netted two goals each for the u19 team.
Semi-Final 2: South West A 25 v 10 North A
The South West team stepped on the field all guns blazing and tallied eight goals in thirteen minutes before the North registered their first, with Becky Thomas causing the most damage scoring five of those eight. At half-time the South West converted fifteen goals while Sophie Brett scored two of the three goals for the North. A fightback from the North in the second half was not enough as the South West continued the goal scoring form with a further ten goals to close the game 25-10. South West were lethal with 9 different players on the score sheet with Thomas finishing top with six goals. Brett finished top of the five Northern scorers with three goals.
B Team Tournament: South West B 15 v 5 North B
In the B team tournament, the South West B’s were to strong for the North B team and ran out convincing winners with a score of 15-5
