English Lacrosse is now replacing Centex with a Girls National Academy system for 2013/14 which was approved in the Whole Sport Plan 2013/17. The Girls National Academy system will provide an opportunity for English Lacrosse to refocus and develop its talent development programmes for the key age groups of Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 in the future.
English Lacrosse would like to acknowledge and thank Top Class Sport for all their leadership, hard work, dedication and commitment over many years in creating and developing a modern and progressive talent identification and development programme for female lacrosse in England.
The Girls National Academy system for 2013/14 will be fundamentally based on the Centex programme and will be organised and administered by a new National Talent Development manager who we are currently in the process of recruiting. English Lacrosse will then be developing the programme for future years with the help of Sport England and other key partners.
English Lacrosse has also set up a designated area on the website www.englishlacrosse.co.uk/team-england/academy to assist communication with players, parents, coaches and teachers.
