Josh Hurry

International Experience
Josh started his international career with England U19s at the 2012 World Championships in Turku, Finland. Josh was a co-captain of the team, who finished 4th after beating Australia in the round robin stage and losing to Canada in the 3rd/4th play-off game. The 2016 European Championships will be his first experience playing for England at senior level.

Club/School/College/County (Territorial) Experience
Josh was first introduced to lacrosse at the age of 9 by his cousins who played at Heaton Mersey Lacrosse Club. He joined the junior set up at Heaton Mersey and progressed through the junior and senior teams eventually making his debut for the first team aged 16. Whilst at Heaton Mersey Josh represented Lancashire at U16, U19 and senior level.

At the age of 19 Josh went to Sheffield Hallam University, during his time in Sheffield he played for both the University (BUCS) and NEMLA team. With the University he was a member of the team that won the BUCS Trophy and Northern 1A league. Competing for SUMLC in the NEMLA league Josh played both Premiership 1 and 2, the highlight of his time at Sheffield was winning Premiership 2, the Stockport Cup and the Yorkshire Cup in the 13/14 season. Josh was also a member of the Yorkshire team which competed at the British National Championships on two occasions, winning the tournament with the team in May 2014. Since finishing at University Josh has returned to Heaton Mersey Lacrosse Club, playing for the first team, who reached the Flags Final in the 14/15 season.
