Getting to know Torz. . .

Q: At what age did you begin to play lacrosse?
A: 12 years old
Q: What are you most looking forward to at RWLC17?
A: I’m looking forward to all of the games at the RWLC17, however I have to say the game against Australia is a really exciting prospect for me. I think for a long time England and Australia have been extremely competitive, playing in pretty similar ways so it will be a good match up. Especially after we tour there this summer and play a 3-day test series against them.
Q: What’s your proudest Lacrosse moment?
A: I have 2-1 is when I received my first ever full England cap and I was standing with my arms around my teammates singing the National Anthem for the first time. The 2nd, on a more personal note, was being top goal scorer in the European Championship final in 2015- it was a fantastic team effort but it’s always great to personally feel like you pulled your weight too. 🙂
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals/superstitions?
A: I always warm up with shoes on the wrong feet and have to change them right before we play.
Q: What’s your “Weapon of Choice” favourite lacrosse stick?
A: STX Crux i
Q: What is your favourite quote?
A: “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard’
Q: What is your favourite food (s)?
A: I love protein pancakes for a healthy (ish) breakfast but I can never say no to chocolate…
Q: What is your favourite music/band (s)?
A: I  love any cheesy pop… can’t say no to a bit of One Direction or Taylor Swift! Always a good to get you through those tough treadmill sprint sessions!
Q: Who is your favourite sports hero (s)?
A: Dame Kelly Holmes- her journey to becoming double Olympic Champion is incredible and very inspiring.
Q: What is your favourite movie (s)?
A: I love Chariots of Fire, but I like to treat myself to a cheesy chick flick like Mean Girls or the Holiday every now and again
Q: What is your favourite TV show (s)?
A: I’m obsessed with sharks and whales… so any David Attenborough documentary about the sea is always going to go down well. I do also enjoy quiz shows like the Chase or Pointless- I enjoy testing my useless knowledge at times!

Interesting fact… I used to do High Jump for England before switching to lacrosse as my main sport.
