Clubs celebrate National Lacrosse Day

The 2nd annual National Lacrosse Day took place on Saturday 17 September with players old and new celebrating the game all around the country.

Clubs across England picked up their sticks and filled the pitches with open days, taster sessions and exhibition games taking place to publicise the day and promote lacrosse ahead of the new season.

With the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s World Cup and 2018 FIL Men’s World Championships taking place in England, the growth and popularity of the game in the country has never been better and National Lacrosse Day is an opportunity to draw attention to the game that is now the 5th most popular sport played at UK universities.

We’ve put together a snapshot of just some of our favourite moments from the day – but to relive all the action from the day as it happened check #NatLaxDay16 and @englacrosse
