English Lacrosse is proud to announce the team of English officials that have been selected by the Federation of International Lacrosse to serve at the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in July.
The individuals will be a part of the wider, international officiating team that will oversee all the matches at RWLC17.
Ex-England international Wendy Reynolds has been appointed to the RWLC17 Officiating Leadership Team as Head Mentor/Assessor, while Paul Bibby and Paul Monaghan will serve as On Field officials and Rob Keogh as Off Field official.
Paul Bibby will also head to the IWGA World Games in Poland after the World Cup again to assist as an On Field official as lacrosse makes it debut appearance at the event.
Emma Barrow and Alex Waterman have also been appointed as Reserve On Field officials ahead of the tournament and will on standby in the lead up to the event.
Stephen Taylor, FIL Women’s Officiating Committee Chair, said: “With almost 100 games over the 10 days of competition in Guildford, our officials are going to be put through their paces starting with three days of clinics and testing overseen by the off field officials and the leadership team.
“We have 25 teams participating from four continents and they deserve to have their games called by umpires who are physically, mentally and educationally prepared to deliver the best officiating any FIL world event has seen”.
The 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup will take place at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford from 12-22 July. Tickets are on sale now at www.2017worldlacrosse.com
