Manchester to Host Two Major Events in June

English Lacrosse in partnership with the Manchester City Council is proud to that the 2015 Manchester Challenge and the 2015 National Club Championships will take place at William Hulme Grammar School June 6th – 7th June.

This will be the second year that English Lacrosse has hosted the Manchester Challenge. The event also welcomes the addition of the senior National Club Championships, which will be played alongside the junior tournaments for the first time.

Both events hope to build a lasting legacy ahead of the 2018 FIL Men’s Lacrosse World Championships, which are due to be held at the Armitage Centre in three years time

The Manchester Challenge is a junior participation event, with the goal to encourage and develop playing opportunities for juniors. The event invites junior teams from all-over the country at the U11, U13, U15 and U17 age groups and will also include a junior development tournament for beginners at the U8’s and U11’s age groups.

The National Club Championships is an elite tournament, which will see the best six men’s clubs teams in the country compete for the historic Iroquois Cup over a two-day period. The championships will be held in Manchester in the lead up to the 2018 FIL World Men’s Lacrosse Championships, however the championships will move to different areas of the country in the future, to ensure that it becomes a truly national event.

The champions of the Iroquois Cup will also go on to represent England at the European Club Championships this September.
