Jets still without a win faced the Mavericks who were now on a roll and their confidence showed in this game. The midlands based team hit first but the Jets kept in touching distance after the first quarter (2-1). Both teams decided to use their power play in the second quarter, with goalies Cat Gaunt and Alex Carnegie-Brown showing why they are elite players, making saves and intercepting feeds. Clare Halliday netted the Jets first ever power play goal early in the second, but this was answered back with 2 goals from Mavericks Hollie Harrington and Ali Smith (6-3 to Mavericks). Mavericks started controlling the game; with a patient attack they scored three goals in both the third and fourth quarters with the Jets only scoring one further goal from broken play. Coach Bennett was more than pleased with the Mavericks gameplay as they closed out the game with a big finish.
