Warwick Mavericks v Surrey Jets

The first game was a close affair with Surrey Jets opening the Super League scoring through Clare Halliday after some good attacking play. The Mavericks answered back quickly to level the score, before the Jets hit the pipe before the end of the first quarter. The Jets were first to use the Power-Play quarter and capitalised, netting twice (to give 4 goals) against the Mavericks one goal. The third quarter saw Mavericks use their Power-Play to score one goal, which left the score at 5-4 (Jets) heading into the last quarter. The Mavericks would come out on top out-scoring Jets 3-1 with goals by Torz Anderson, Lara Owen and Keely Watt
