Manchester hosted the 2nd series of Super League Lacrosse last weekend at Timperley Lacrosse Club. Northern Storm entered the weekend on maximum points having won both their games in Warwick. Super League 2015 Champions Warwick Mavericks needed to make an impression on the series, having lost both of their opening fixtures. London Royals and Surrey Jets both comfortably mid table with a win, a loss and 2 losing bonus points each.
Northern Storm were close to retaining their unbeaten run, with each game going to within one goal. However, Surrey Jets were able to hold off a last quarter power play by Storm and earn a 9-8 win. Storm do retain their pole position in the league but are beatable.
Surrey Jets have performed well in Super League Lacrosse 2016 winning 2 out of the 4 games and earning a losing bonus points in 2 tight loses. However, they will be without coach Nicky Budd in Surrey as she is on U19 England Lacrosse coaching duties. Vic Alexander will take on the coaching role for the final weekend.
