Ruby Smith

International Experience
Ruby represented England for the first time in 2008 at the European Lacrosse Championship in Lahti, Finland. She went on to be selected as the captain for Team England U19’s and was also selected on the All-World team following her performance at the 2011 FIL U19 World Championships in Hannover, Germany. She has since gone on to represent Team England at a further two European Championships and more recently she was a member of 2013 Senior World Cup squad.

Q: At what age did you begin to play lacrosse?
A: 11 Years Old
Q: What’s your proudest Lacrosse moment?
A: Being selected for the world team when captaining the u19 world cup and playing in my first senior world cup aged 19
Q: What are you most looking forward to at RWLC17?
A: The opening game on our home soil to start off the world cup.
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals/superstitions?
A: I always have to eat a banana and have a few minutes by myself to listen to some music
Q: What’s your “Weapon of Choice” favourite lacrosse stick?
A: I am currently playing with the Brine Empress.
Q: What is your favourite quote?
A: Somewhere behind the athlete you’ve become and the hours of practice and the coaches who have pushed you is a little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back… play for her.” Mia Hamm.
Q: What is your favourite food (s)?
A: Chicken pie, mash and gravy. As well as chocolate digestives with a cup of tea

A: I don’t have a favourite but enjoy listening to up beat music I can sing along to
