What is LAX?

LAX is the follow up game from the very successful Primary School based game of Pop Lacrosse. LAX combines speed, skill and athleticism, involving all players in an exciting and dynamic invasive game. LAX is played not only at Secondary schools but at local clubs and recreation programmes. The use of field sticks provides the participant with a better understanding of men’s and women’s field lacrosse, and such is perfect for a transitional game for children as well as being a game in its own right.

LAX in the Curriculum

LAX is a participation based game played in single sex and mixed groups. The game combines the hand-eye co-ordination skills required to pass and catch with a Lacrosse stick, with other essential game playing skills such as invasion techniques, marking, teamwork and decision making. Also the game is very active and safe for all participants and player involvement is high. LAX is designed to be ideally suited to Physical Education curriculums and to meet the requirements Key Stage 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum for Physical Education.
